Just as critics recoil at the supposed intellectual sloppiness of labeling the abusers homosexuals but will then most sloppily call them pedophiles, they will identify them as “Catholic” and as “priests” but not as homosexual. Why is this? Is it just a coincidence that every example here of selective specificity, sloppiness and hypocrisy serves to either protect the reputation of homosexuals or damage that of the Church? -- Selwyn Duke
The concept of Absolute Truth lies at the heart of Christianity, Judaism, Islam and philosophy. Why philosophy? Because, properly defined, philosophy is the search for Truth. Now, some — including many philosophy professors — would dispute this, but they are not only babies in philosophy but also have adopted the endeavor of a madman: searching while claiming there is nothing to find.
It is this, the lack of moral health care, that is our problem. To paraphrase Lincoln, the teaching in the schools today is the ideology of tomorrow. As Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov pointed out, once the “demoralization” is complete, you are “stuck with the degraded and deluded. You cannot change their minds. You have to change their hearts.
This is why C. S. Lewis said, “Sex is not messed up because it was put in the closet; it was put in the closet because it was messed up.” The Internet throws the closet of man open in a way it has never been — and never should be. And it’s no exaggeration to say that the demons released are destroying civilization. As British philosopher Edmund Burke warned, “It is ordained in the eternal constitution of things that men of intemperate minds cannot be free. Their passions forge their fetters.” The young today are immersed in a virtual world in which coarseness, nastiness, decadence, perversion, superficiality, egoism and nihilism are the norm. They are instilled with moral relativism’s only guide, “If it feels good, do it,” and then their feelings are twisted in the worst possible way, through vile entertainment, so that what feels good is cultural poison. The result is that we are breeding barbarians wholly incapable of sustaining a healthy constitutional republic. -- Selwyn Duke
