Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), the chair of the Democratic National Committee, says the economy “has turned the corner,” but her counterpart at the Republican National Committee, Reince Priebus, says Americans are still hurting. Priebus said the bumper sticker for Democrats in 2012 should be, “Hey, It Could Have Been Worse.”
The two appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Sunday, where Wasserman Schultz repeated her defense of President Barack Obama’s handling of the economy. During the exchange, RNC Chairman Priebus cited the 9.1 percent unemployment rate (2.4 million people unemployed) and the $4 trillion increase in the deficit.
