Several weeks ago, Rush Limbaugh opened one of his radio programs with these words: “Look, I don’t care how you slice it, folks, it just doesn’t make any sense…. Why are the Republicans willing to commit suicide?” Rush was talking about the Republican plan to vote for an immigration bill called “reform” which isn’t reform at all; it is “suicide for our country.” Then Rush quoted extensively from the 20-page report I just released based on “reams of polling data and other demographic data on illegal immigrants.” Rush explained how public opinion polls prove the point that the amnesty bill now under consideration is, indeed, suicide for America.
Rush pointed out how these public opinion polls show that the immigrants coming in now are not worthy of American citizenship because they tell pollsters that they do not believe our Constitution should trump international law. Rush then asked the question, when 67% of naturalized citizens think that “international law should trump the Constitution, is it any wonder that illegal immigrants vote two to one Democrat?… They overwhelmingly support big government, Obamacare, affirmative action and gun control. No wonder the Democrats want it. But why in the world do the Republicans want it?” Then Rush quoted me as saying “Pew Research Center poll of all Hispanics, immigrant and citizen alike, found that Hispanics … are more opposed to capitalism than even people who describe themselves as ‘liberal Democrats’ like Obama or Harry Reid or [Nancy] Pelosi.”
Rush Limbaugh concluded, “We ought not be granting citizenship to people who don’t understand the Declaration [or] the Preamble of the Constitution. We shouldn’t be granting citizenship to people who come here and want to undermine it.”
Rush asked some very good questions and you should ask these questions of your Congressmen.
