What I’m doing with 60,000 gun owners in Las Vegas has liberals quaking in their loafers

Greetings everyone from the 27th floor of The Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas. I’m here to speak at the 40th Annual Shot Show, my first time. It’s without a doubt one of the biggest, if not THE biggest trade show for those in the firearms industry. I find it interesting that the Shot Show got started the year I graduated from high school and started my freshman year at the University of Tennessee. Time flies.

As I walk this exhibit hall and speak at the Gun Industry Executive Seminar, I have to ask, do we know just how close we are to losing this right? This is why the Supreme Court is so important, because the Heller Case was decided by a 5-4 margin by the SCOTUS. That means there were three Supreme Court justices who DO NOT believe the Second Amendment is a constitutional right of the American citizen. And don’t forget, it was the same Supreme Court that voted 5-4 believing that same-sex marriage, a right they created, is a right across the country. This is why the folks sitting on that bench are so important. It’s the difference between our being a nation of laws, especially our rule of law, the Constitution. Or shall we devolve into being a nation of judicial activists based on their own ideological agenda?

An estimated 60,000 to 70,000 folks will attend this event, but the possibility that we may not have a Shot Show in the near future is a possibility. When you consider the millions of dollars the progressive socialist left is investing into defeating our Second Amendment right, it should trouble you. The left has come to realize the power of we, the people — ya know, us folks who go about “clinging to our guns and our religion.” I’m quite sure to the political, cultural, academic and entertainment elites, the folks here at the Shot Show are the ones who occupy that “basket of deplorables.”

Here at the Shot Show you have leaders in the gun industry, folks who own gun manufacturing companies, ranges, and supporting companies such as gear and high precision sights. But, to the liberal progressive left, well, to paraphrase Barack Obama, if they own a business, they didn’t build that. And therefore, if there’s a condescending attitude towards the independent private business sector, imagine how the liberal progressive left could target gun industry companies…oh yeah, they already did. Remember the Obama administration’s number one hit man, Eric Holder and his Department of Justice secret program, Operation Choke Point? Yes, it was a plan, a scheme, to cut off the financial support to the firearm industry.

I think it’s vital that everyone here at the Shot Show knows that 1979 wasn’t actually the first Shot Show. In truth, the first American Shot Show happened in April 1775. It was when a few men, men who believed there was one very important way to protect individual liberty fired the shot heard around the world. And it’s important we never forget why that shot was fired!

The British were marching inland towards Lexington and Concord to confiscate and destroy the firearms industry operating there in Massachusetts. But it was those guardians, those simple Americans who stood their ground against what some would perceive overwhelming odds, and prevailed…forcing the British force of some 700 soldiers to retreat.

If there are to be future Shot Shows, and our right to keep and bear arms, which shall not be infringed, we must turn back the modern day Redcoats. Today, they’re represented by the progressive socialist leftists such as a Michael Bloomberg and George Soros — yep, our modern-day King George III — who would destroy our firearms industry, and therefore eliminate our Second Amendment right. They do so with the expressed intent of ensuring that the scenes of Venezuela, Iran, and other places in history where unarmed individuals are rendered into subjects – targets — of a tyrannical government. In essence, when we are disarmed, when our modern-day Concord arms manufacturing industry is destroyed, we are no longer capable of demanding responsible governance. We become ruled.

Let us, the “old school patriots” take up our position today, on our respective Lexington Green and Concord Bridge. We must convey a simple message to the liberal progressive left: your affinity for illegal immigrants and the undermining of our rule of law, shall not be tolerated…and you WILL NOT disarm us so as to rule via your tyranny.
