Liberals going nuts about Democrat turnout in Texas primary, but they’re missing one key fact
BY ALLEN WEST
Well, if you were to read the news reports, it was a Democrat, progressive socialist dream, a huge victory in Texas yesterday. All over the place the rally cry of “Turn Texas Blue” is being touted. I recently wrote a piece for CNSNews.com about the insanity of such an assertion. Now, I do not discount the efforts of the left, but it is a Herculean endeavor.
As reported by The Hill, “Texas Democrats on Tuesday more than doubled their primary election turnout from four years ago, providing the party with a modest boost as it looks to take on the GOP in the conservative state during this year’s midterm elections.
As of early Wednesday morning, more than 1 million Democrats cast ballots in the party’s primary election, compared to 1.5 million who voted in the Republican primary. That puts the Democratic share of votes cast at about 40 percent, a significant increase from the 2014 midterms, where Democrats made up less than 30 percent of the vote. Democrats had been hoping for big numbers ever since early vote totals showed the party with a narrow early vote lead in the top 15 most populous counties, but the end result was more modest.
The uptick will likely foster Democratic enthusiasm about the possibility of competing in tough races across Texas this year, even if the party is still outnumbered in the reliably conservative state. More than 1.3 million voters backed Sen. Ted Cruz (R) in his Republican primary on Tuesday, while about 640,000 backed Rep. Beto O’Rourke(D). The two will square off in the November general election.”
That somewhat puts things in perspective and it also evidences the goal of the liberal progressives even in Texas. They’re focused on major population centers, which is the objective of the progressive socialist left in all red states. If there’s anything to be learned it’s a true example of the left’s playbook, their strategy. That focus along with running massive amounts of female candidates is their way ahead. Hence why I stand by my assertion that in 2020, the left will choose California Senator Kamala Harris as their nominee.
But, back to the state I’ve chosen as my home, Texas, and yes, the left has made great gains in Dallas and Dallas County. However, there is something folks aren’t taking into account. Yesterday, March 6th, wasn’t just Texas primary day, that day has a very deeper meaning in the state of Texas. It also has a great meaning for Tennessee Volunteers. It was yesterday, 182 years ago, that the siege at The Alamo ended. Yes, it was 182 years ago that Texans and their Southern allies stood on the ramparts of freedom and refused to surrender. They fought to the last man against those insurmountable odds, knowing they would not have reinforcements. They’d made the commitment of standing on the right side of the line vowing to stand…they embodied the motto of “Come and Take It”.
Their service, sacrifice, and commitment became a rallying cry all across Texas, and in the following month, General Santa Ana was defeated and the Republic of Texas was secured.
The lesson the progressive socialist left needs to understand is that Texans will not surrender their state to the tyranny of the left. They’ll fight to the last in order to secure their liberty, and that has not changed. What the liberal progressive media has done with their incessant coverage and acclaim that Texas is within their grasp has just rallied the freedom-loving constitutional conservatives with a call to arms that will result in a resounding defeat for the left in November…just as Santa Ana was crushed at San Jacinto.
But not just in Texas, others in red states will be inspired to fight back and ensure the nightmare of the left, exemplified in California, will not blot out the dream of individual economic empowerment and opportunity. I think you are going to see a great conservative turnout in November, and I will work hard to send out that clarion call. The left’s so-called enthusiasm is rooted in their hatred of one person, President Donald Trump. That same dark emotion has been cast upon this country, as we saw during the State of the Union address. This is what the progressive socialist left calls their “fundamental transformation of the United States of America.”That grand effort will not be successful as their belief is not centered on the fundamental principles and values of this Constitutional Republic. Their passion does not run as deep.
“Remember the Alamo!” That was the rallying cry, just as with King Leonidas and the Spartans at Thermopylae, which inspired the sentinels of liberty to defeat the demons of tyranny. The left does not have a true momentum…because liberty has always been the great inspiration.
And so it shall be in November, and beyond. God Bless America, God Bless Texas!
