The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square present “How Great Thou Art” arranged by Mack Wilberg with lyrics by Stuart K. Hine.
Episode 4365. May 12, 2013
Editor’s Note: It was in celebration of Mothers Day (and our 33rd wedding anniversary) in May of 2013, when my wife and I attended the weekly broadcast of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square (in Salt Lake City), and had the singular double blessing of not just hearing once again this world famous choir but also of being introduced to the vocal talent of the internationally acclaimed, Welsh baritone, Bryn Terfel. For 30 minutes he and the choir held us spellbound, but for me the highlight of it all was to hear Bryn Terfel sing conductor, composer Max Wilberg’s rendition of the classic Christian hymn, How Great Thou Art. There are a great many hymns which have inspired me throughout my life, but the rendition of this hymn left me speechless and in tears … something which repeats itself anew every time I hear it. – Steve Farrell, Editor-In-Chief, Self-Educated American
